Pulsatilla patens

Pulsatilla patens (Eastern Pasque Flower) is our native pasque flower. It blooms in purple shades and occasioinally pink. It is often the first plant up and bloomsing. It can be planted in sun or shade. The majority of its life is over by the time the trees get their leaves. Its blooms become ornamental seed pods.
