Fritillaria meleagris

This species is one of the earliest flowers to bloom in spring. It emerges early and lies along the soil surface before standing up and blooming with downfacing bell shaped purple or white flowers. It is very hardy and forms nice colonies in only a few years. It dies back early so can be used in areas underneath other plants. I often plant cabage and cauliflower on top of it in mid June. An order is 3 bulbs.
