Lychnis chalcedonica

Lychnis chalcedonica (Maltese Cross) grows to 40 inches. It tops each stem with a panicle of bright red flowers. The plant tends to flop over but does not interfere with its neighbors, it just adds a spot of red whereever it lies. To avoid this the plant can be staked. It makes a good cut flower.
