Pulsatilla patens

Pulsatilla patens (Pasqueflower) is native to interior Alaska. It is the first wild flower to bloom in spring, blooming immediately after the snow melts. It has purple flowers and occasionally pink flowers. Since it completes most of its life before the leaves are on the trees, it does not mind growing in shade under trees.
