Veronica gentianoides

Veronica gentianoides (Gentian Speedwell) forms mats of dark green foliage. Upright stems hold spikes of pale blue outfacing flowers. It blooms very early. It grows to a height of 12 to 18 inches with a spread of 8 inches spreading slowly to form a groundcover. This photo shows V. gentianoides in front of Primula cortusoides.
